Designed a five-book illustrated educational series focused on animal care and conservation, along with a combined omnibus edition.
Responsible for interior layout, cover design, typography, and image integration across all volumes, ensuring visual consistency and readability across a multi-book system.
The series required maintaining clear structural consistency while adapting layouts for varied content, including photography, illustration, and informational text.
Photos included in the books and promotional material are a blend of my own photography and sourced stock photos.
Editorial Book Design
For this intensely visual book, I was in charge of taking historical artwork from around the world, and giving them new life as clean and modern illustrations. These digital drawings were mixed with photography throughout the layout.
Focused on typographic structure, image integration, and pacing to support a cohesive reading experience across mixed visual and textual content.
There is also a second edition I produced the next year, The Secret of the Green Man’s Soul, where design and illustrations had to be adapted for a trade size black and white book.
Cover Design — Independent & Print Editions
Work includes cover design for both print and digital editions, with attention to genre conventions, typography, and composition for market readability.
Each cover was developed in collaboration with authors, balancing creative direction with production requirements for self-publishing workflows.
Editorial Publication Design
Designed interior layout and cover for an illustrated institutional history publication documenting SUNY Cortland.
The project required organizing historical text, archival imagery, and structured captions into a cohesive editorial system with clear hierarchy and consistent pacing.
Art Exhibition & Campaign Design
Designed print and promotional materials for the “After 1965: Art in a Time of Social Unrest” exhibition campaign for Neuberger Museum of Art. This included posters, web advertisements, and supporting collateral.
Cover & Interior Design
Designed interiors and covers for two small-format gardening prayer books. I worked with both authors to create custom line illustrations to be featured within the interior spreads throughout.
The layouts prioritize clarity and balance between text and imagery within compact page structures.
